Darrell 'Bob' Piper
May 14, 1921 - July 9, 2018
Darrell “Bob” Piper, 97, of Ottawa Lake, MI, died Monday, July 9, 2018, in his home. Born May 14, 1921, in Pittsford, Michigan, he was the son of Paul E. and Julia L. (Haskins) Piper. A WWII U.S. Marine Corps veteran, he married Elmeta “Louise” Burgess on November 13, 1943. Bob was an electrician for over 35 years, working out of I.B.E.W, Local in Rossford. He retired in 1983. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and was also a member of Bridgepoint Church in Temperance.
Bob is survived by his loving wife, Louise; children, Sylvia (Butch) Jewell and Diane Dippold; grandchildren, Cassie and Eric; great grandchildren, Seth, Aurora and Ilse. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Judy Piper; brother, David Piper; sisters, Linda Piper and Nancy Fellabaum.
Visitation will be from 3-8 pm, Thursday, July 12, 2018, at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance, MI, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, July 13, 2018. Interment will follow at Whiteford Union Cemetery.
